This
a level 3 course that provides students with an overview of environmental
issues, particularly as they relate to Newfoundland and Labrador.
In October of 1999 our 3 classes went on
a field trip to a bog just outside Corner Brook. Despite the rain showers
everyone had fun, along with a cup of hot chocolate in the field.
Some of the girls found small frogs,
many of us saw moose tracks, but most of all we were surprised by the variety
of plant life on a bog.
You should also note that this course
is now accepted for admission to university. So a good mark in this course
can be beneficial to you ! For those planning on attending College
of the North Atlantic, this is an excellent preparation course for Mineral
Technology, Adventure Tourism and Forestry Technician.
In April of 2000 we are
planning a field trip to Corner Brook Pulp and Paper.
This will be an interesting visit and provide
first hand observation into the workings of a large paper mill. We'll keep
you updated !!!
