The Inventions Convention would not have been possible without
hard work put in by the students, teachers and parents. Mr. Hughie Butt, Mr. Aloysius Sullivan and the staff of Xavier Junior High made it possible to host this event. The Planning Committee sonsisted of Bill Allan -Enrichment Coordinator, Betty King, Renee Sherstobetoff from District 3 Board Office and Cecil Lake from Regina High School.

Some of the Inventors
(There were 49 exhibitors but only a few can be shown on this site)
These two inventors from Regina High School saw a problem with trying to read a book in bed and keeping their arms from getting tired while they read. Thus the invention "Look Ma... No Hands"

This inventors from Regina High School must have experienced a busted water heater because she envisioned an invention called "Beat the Leak" in which a sensor detects a leak and then shuts off the water supply coming into the water heater.

Our next inventors from Regina High School would make a great splash on a hot day in summer. Think of the times that you only wanted one glass of punch or Kool Aid and it was too weak or too strong. These ingenuous girls put the right amount of drink crystals in a gauze bag with a string attached. DUNK.. DUNK and viola, the drink that refreshes.

These girls from  J.J. Curling Elementary School in Corner Brookmust have had some problems with their milk and cookies when traveling. They invented the "to Go" - a cup that has two compartments. The upper compartment holds the cookies while the lower compartment containing the milk can be sucked up using the attached straw. What a great idea.

All you germ haters out there, you'd love this invention. These guys from  Main River Academy  thought of the idea of putting a plastic cover over the area where you would open a can of drink. This cover would keep the drink area clean until you opened it.

The komatik is a sled that is used in winter for a variety of reasons but once the snow is gone, it can no longer be used. Why not put detachable wheels on your komatik so you can use it all year round. Well, these four guys from Main River Academy thought of it first. Good thinking guys.

The "Handi Dandi Quick Doorstop" was an invention of these girls from Main River Academy.

Here we have the future host of the New Yankee Workshop. His invention was to combine a tool box and a work bench into one portable unit. All you teachers and students from C.C. Loughlin Elementary school should be proud.

Look out Eurorail, here's your next design engineer. This budding inventor from C.C. Loughlin Elementary has a strong attraction for many visitors to the Invention Convention by demonstrating his version of the "Hovercar"
