Lesson VIII - Let's Share

Objectives: To allow students to share their inventions with others

Materials: Evaluation Rubric and Process Rubric

1. Here are several things to consider.  First, if you make this part of your curriculum and you need to evaluate the final product, ensure that the students know up front that their invention will be evaluated according to a rubric.  (See Evaluation Rubric below).  Second, you may wish to include a process mark in addition to the rubric used for the final product.  (See Process Rubric below)

2. Sharing the invention with others is an important outlet for these students to showcase their talents.  Here are several suggestions for sharing:

                a. An area set aside in your classroom for other students to view the inventions.  The students can then individually share their inventions with the class.

                b. If you have a variety of students from different classes involved in the invention process, then an area within the school should be set aside for other students and teachers to view.  The students should be present to explain their innovations.  (This can be a great event for parent nights)

                c. If there are several schools participating in the invention process, then an invention fair maybe organized so that members of the community can view these creations.
