My Classroom

My classroom
is meant to be a visually pleasing but with the addition of mammals, plants,
reptiles,
amphibians and fish, it becomes a place of interaction. I encourage my
students to interact with these organisms, feed them and play with them.
In
this picture, one of my
AP Biology
students has Cherise (one of our class rats) on her desk.
Cherise
loves to explore. Cherise's partner, Benton, is shy and does not like his
picture taken but I took this one when he wasn't looking.
Among by other
mammals are my two hamsters, Lady and Scooter.
Both of these
rodents love to climb, perform acrobatics in their cage and show-off for
the students, They both hope they will put into their ball to roll
around the
floor to get exercise.
They
have been known to leave my class and travel to other classes without permission!
Down in the
corner of this picture (left) is my terrarium which is the home of my turtle,
who seems to have several names depending on which student you talk with.
I believe one of his names is Marvin and the other is Turdy. Next to the
terrarium is my vermincomposter which makes great compost for my plants.
This picture
is one of several fish tanks located around the room. They all have different
names, some of which are named after my students.
